Prenatal + Postnatal

Pilates

We are proud to offer our feel-good prenatal + postnatal friendly Pilates offerings to moms and moms-to-be. All sessions are taught by trained perinatal instructors + executed with thought and care to be both safe and effective. We also offer and highly recommend private sessions tailored to your perinatal experience and goals

Perinatal classes and private sessions at The Reformery are designed to energize, educate, and empower moms at all stages of their pre+postnatal journey.

You can expect a supportive class, open to all stages of pregnancy, postpartum and pilates experience. We integrate our method of contemporary Pilates with functional movement, rooted in serving perinatal clients — prioritizing posture, breath, core and pelvic floor engagement, hip strengthening and stability and joint alignment.

These classes offer a safe, welcoming space to build strength that will support you during, and after pregnancy.

To make it easier to attend classes while navigating parenthood, non-mobile babies are welcome to our pre+postnatal classes.

You may feed, change, or wear your baby at any time during class.

Classes are scheduled weekly on Saturdays at 1:30pm. Private sessions are scheduled to your availability.

Safety Policies

If you are pregnant or in the fourth trimester, we require that you have permission from your OBGYN or midwife to exercise.

If you are new to Pilates, we strongly suggest you only take pre+postnatal classes. All regular group classes may include exercises and/or body positions that are contraindicated for pregnancy. Perinatal classes will teach you alternative exercises that you can modify with if you also take regular classes.

We will never force you to do an exercise that you don’t feel comfortable with, or prohibit you from doing an exercise or class that you do enjoy. We appreciate that you tell instructors prior to your class that you are expecting or newly postpartum and respect that you and your doctor know your body and needs best.

Extended periods in the supine position and heated classes are not advised during pregnancy.
